Six ideas to shift your registration sponsorship value and fee up a gear.

First impressions matter. but while the onsite registration experience is functional and operationally slick, the sponsor activation is underwhelming with a logo on a backdrop and little else. So here are a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing that might ignite the imagination of your event sponsors.

Sponsor-themed welcome: Decorate the registration area with the sponsor's branding and incorporate elements related to their industry and value proposition. For example, large floor graphics or a welcome tunnel with graphics showcasing their new products or brand value proposition.

Networking icebreaker wall: This activation is an icebreaker that is incorporated into the registration process rather than in a separate area of the event. The goal of the wall is to engage attendees to answer questions related to your industry or the sponsor. This can be achieved through sticky notes, chalk or highlighter pens. For example, a coffee sponsor may ask "what fuels your workday?" attendees would then write their answers on coffee cup-shaped sticky notes.

Live polling with sponsor participation: This idea can turn the registration sponsorship into a lead-gen opportunity. In this example, the sponsor uses a tablet to ask attendees a question relevant to the sponsor's industry. In the process, the sponsor collects contact details and displays the poll results on a screen as part of registration.

"Ask me anything" sponsor representative: This activation entails having a sponsor representative stationed near the registration area wearing a designated "ask me anything" t-shirt. This allows attendees to ask quick questions and gain valuable insights into the sponsor's offerings in a relaxed and informal setting.

Gamified registration collection: this simple activation enables the sponsor to offer a registration pick-up incentive, like a small, branded gift. Alternatively, attendees could enter a raffle for a larger prize by scanning a QR code on the registration signage.

Large welcome letters with photo opportunity: this activation works well if your event or sponsor uses letters as part of their brand identity. Alternatively, add a step and repeat logo wall and give attendees props to use, in a photo, to share on social media using a designated event hashtag. Those who post are entered into a competition.
